Q: What is Roller Derby?
A: Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact sport played on quad roller skates. Each game is two, 30-minute periods composed of two-minute plays, or “jams (see the image from WFTDA.com).
Q: Is there an Age requirement?
A: Minimum age is currently 16 (with parent/carer consent) at Riverina Rollers
Q: I love Derby but don’t want to/can’t jam, is there a place for me on the team?
A: Absolutely! We also love our Refs and NSO’s (Non-Skating Officials).
Q: Who is Roller Derby governed by?
A: WFTDA - The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) is the international governing body for the sport of women’s flat track roller derby and a membership organization for leagues to collaborate and network.
